Tami Wicinas currently works as a freelance illustrator and mobile game artist in San Francisco. Born and raised in the Bay Area, she loved to draw as soon as she was able to hold a crayon. She moved east to earn a BFA in illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design, then spent seven years working as a professional artist in Boston. In 2013 she moved back to the Bay Area in search of warmer weather and new experiences. She has created art for books, games, animation, comics, and educational media.
Well versed in traditional media such as pencil, oil and watercolor, she has been adapting her style to suit the modern digital world. Tami’s work has been influenced by her fascinations with Art Nouveau, Japanese culture and animation, and Victorian England. Her passion for reading and illustrating stories inspired her first webcomic, Wooden Rose. Upon completing it, she had it self-published into a printed book which she now sells online and at conventions. Tami hopes to continue to improve her artistic and creative skills as she explores further ways to communicate story and stir emotion through the power of line and color.
